God's Premiere
The Story of Genesis
Genesis is the Bible’s big premiere. God creates the earth, the planets and heavens, plants and animals, men and women. When humanity launches a rebellion, God begins the task of mending His relationship with humanity and all creation. The stories that unfold in this extraordinary book grapple with some of our deepest questions: Why am I here? Is there a God? Does He love me? In the Sunday night series at Prestoncrest, GOD’S PREMIERE: THE STORY OF GENESIS, Gordon Dabbs and Jacob Hawk teach through the first book of the Bible.
Discipleship
The Lost Art of Following Jesus
One of the last things Jesus told his apostles was to “go and make disciples.” What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? What does it look like to follow Jesus? Whether you're new in the faith or a longtime believer, it's so important that Christ be at the center of your life. In this special 2-part message series, Gordon Dabbs, Ph.D., will teach from God’s Word about the basics of discipleship, and about what it means to follow Jesus in our world today.
Advent
What is Advent? The term advent is from the Latin translation of "coming.". God's prophecies in the Old Testament prepared the way for His promise. During December, Christians take part in advent as a way to celebrate the promise of the Savior, Jesus Christ both at birth and looking forward to His return.
"The celebration of Advent is possible only to those who are troubled in soul, who know themselves to be poor and imperfect, and who look forward to something greater to come." ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
"God of hope, I look to you with an open heart and yearning spirit. During this Advent season, I will keep alert and awake, listening for your word and keeping to your precepts. My hope is in you." ~ Matthew Kelly
