As a young child, Marcus lived in Medan, Indonesia where his father was a missionary. When he was in third grade they moved to Montgomery, AL and then they moved to Huntsville, AL when he was in high school. He graduated from Madison Academy in Huntsville, AL in 1989 and went on to attend Faulkner University. He graduated from Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL where he met his wife, Allyson. She was a pitcher on the newly formed softball team, and he was captivated immediately with the blue-eyed girl from California. They started dating in September of 1993 and got married in August of 1994. With her being from California and him from Alabama, when they got married, and decided to “meet in the middle” and moved to Oklahoma City where she finish her degree at Oklahoma Christian University.
In 2003, while living in Hazel Green, AL (Huntsville area) their daughter Kylee was born. They currently live in the Lewisville, TX area (Highland Village), but have also lived in Oklahoma City, OK; Columbia, SC; Huntsville, AL; Arlington, TX, and Leander, TX. In addition to these places, Marcus has lived in Medan, Indonesia; and Montgomery, AL while Allyson has also lived in Burbank, CA; and San Jose, CA.
Marcus came to Prestoncrest from World Bible School where he worked in Church Relations. Prior to WBS, he was the Youth and Family Minister for the Lewisville church of Christ in Lewisville, TX. Marcus spent 23 years in several industries and held numerous leadership roles with Fortune 500 Companies including Stryker, DJO Global, and Target.
Marcus loves to read, travel, camp, go overlanding, and to do pretty much anything outdoors. He loves watching college football and his favorite teams are Auburn and whoever is playing Alabama.
His two favorite passages are:
Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.”
1 Peter 3:8 “Finally, all of you live harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.”
