Prayer and Fasting

At different times during the year, Prestoncrest sets aside a special day for a day of Prayer and Fasting for those that would like to join us.

If you are able, fast from food. But if food is not an option, we encourage you to “go without” something to devote extra time to seeking the Lord in prayer.

Great articles to help prepare and learn more about prayer and fasting in general can be found HERE and HERE

Special Day of Prayer & Fasting • 10.29.24

There is a great need for God's mighty hand to be over His people during this election season, to guide and protect those that lead us, and to heal our country and our world in many ways!

With the presidential election quickly approaching, our country is in need of our prayers now more than ever. We have a great need for God's mighty hand to be over His people during this election season, to guide and protect those that lead us, and to heal our country and our world in many ways!

Prestoncrest is encouraging our members, along with our entire local and virtual community, to join us in prayer.

We are asking everyone to set aside TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29 to come together as one in spirit and fast for the day, focusing on prayer.

At 9pm CT, we are asking for the church to individually pray for the election and our country and considering the following starter ideas and scriptures to be part of your prayer time:

1.  Wisdom and Guidance for Leaders

Pray for current and future leaders at all levels of government to seek wisdom, discernment, and justice as they make decisions. Ask God to guide the hearts and minds of those elected to serve the people with integrity (James 1:5; 1 Timothy 2:1-2).

2.  Unity and Peace

With political divisions often running deep, pray for healing across political and social divides. Ask for God’s peace to rest on the nation, that citizens will engage in civil discourse and seek understanding across differences (Ephesians 4:3; Matthew 5:9).

3.  Justice and Righteousness

Ask for God’s justice to reign in the land, for leaders to promote policies that reflect biblical values of righteousness, justice, and compassion for all, especially the marginalized and vulnerable (Micah 6:8; Proverbs 31:8-9).

4.  Spiritual Awakening

Ask God for a spiritual revival in the nation, that people’s hearts would turn to Him in these times of uncertainty. Pray for a return to biblical values and for Christians to be faithful witnesses during this election season (2 Chronicles 7:14; Matthew 5:14-16).

Elder Prayer

Monday Night Prayer

Monday nights are a dedicated time for our Elders to gather and pray for specific, one-time and recurring needs, each specifically requested by members and visitors.  In addition, needs and events at Prestoncrest, in our community, nation, and our world are also lifted in prayer.  Requests are always welcomed!

PRAYER ROOM TUES

Community Prayer Room TUESDAYS, 9 am - 6 pm

Open to the community and is staffed with a licensed Security Officer for extra peace of mind for all who attend.

It is a space for anyone in the community to come, sit, meditate, pray, and “seek” God. It is welcoming and conducive to a quiet time, alone, with God.

Ministers are available to pray with you, if you would like, but your attendance can be a simple visit to enjoy time alone, as well.
