Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Grades K-2
Mary Ellen was born and raised at Prestoncrest. She graduated from Abilene Christian University in 2016 with a Bachelors of Elementary Education and in 2017 with a Master’s in Teaching and Learning. During a few summers while attending ACU, she was the Children’s Ministry intern for Rebecca Sutton, and that is where she fell in love with teaching children! She met her husband, Ben, at ACU, and they were married at Prestoncrest the summer of 2017. They have since welcomed their two children, Thomas and Emma Kate, who are the fifth generation of Mary Ellen’s family to be at Prestoncrest.
Mary Ellen has served in the Children’s Ministry on Sunday mornings ever since her son Thomas was in the nursery, and she has served on the VBS committee since 2025. Ben and Mary Ellen are active in their class, Rooted, and previously served as class leaders for the Young Adults class. They enjoy having their class over for singing and worship and especially love hearing all the children sing. They began hosting a small group for the youth group in the fall of 2024 and have loved serving in that way. Mary Ellen started as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator for Kindergarten-Second grade in the summer of 2026.
