The Attic: 3rd Grade - 6th Grade
What is “the Attic?”
The Attic is a place just for the third – sixth graders of Prestoncrest! It’s a place where kids come to learn about the Bible, meet new friends in small groups, and participate in connecting activities.
When is it?
Every Sunday at 9:35. Students begin gathering at 9:30.
Why attend the Attic?
For Spiritual Growth: “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52 (NIV)
What is the Attic environment like?
The time is divided into 2 major segments . . . large group time and small group time.
Large Group (9:35-10:00)
All of the Attic kids meet together in large group for a time of worship. Large group begins with kids lifting their voices in praise to God through song. Next, they hear the Bible lesson. Kids participate by acting out the story, reading scripture and answering questions.
Small Group (10:00 – 10:30)
Children meet in grade level groups to discuss how the Bible story and “bottom line” applies to them. They participate in journaling, prayer time, and application activities.
